Engineering staff should simply be aware that Local Producers do not have access to nola codes, P-numbers, and Package Types. And while those nomenclatures are valued, they also are a barrier to the exchange of content across the system. To that end, the industry is rallying around EIDR IDs.
A few important notes:
- EIDR IDs are a machine readable alpha-numeric string that connect back to a show's technical and abstract metadata.
- EIDR IDs are typically procured early in the media supply chain.
- In the event that a station is distributing content via sIX Interconnection, an EIDR ID is captured in Protrack's six user interface.
