If we use a Programming Service, should they handle EIDR for us?
Our station is a P3 client; would P3 be able to enter records into EIDR on our behalf?
You would probably not want to have a Programming Service manage your EIDR registrations, and they probably are not EIDR members, though you could check with them. In any event, the organizations that will benefit most from registering content with EIDR are the producing organization (which is often a station, especially with local programming) and the distributor (which may be your station if you have acquired the program). Ultimately, you want to enter the data because that way your organization / station is linked directly to the content and because as the content creator or distributor, your metadata will be the most accurate.
